Two views of the
same 10,000-cell Samusik_01 UMAP (mouse bone marrow, 39 surface
markers).
Click any cell to start its animation. A window of neighbor ranks slides
outward — ranks
[1–100], then
[51–150],
[101–200], … out to the
farthest neighbors.
- Left — the window over neighbors ranked in UMAP (2-D) space.
- Right — the window over neighbors ranked in the original
high-dimensional marker space, drawn on the same UMAP.
Early frames are the k-nearest neighbors; late frames are the k-farthest.
The right panel shows how well — or how poorly — the UMAP preserves the true
high-dimensional neighborhood as the window moves from near to far.
Agreement = the percent of cells shared by the left and right windows at the
current rank band. Everything runs in your browser; no data is uploaded.
